Mangaluru, March 24, 2020: Following warning of stern action by the authorities against those flouting the Section 144 rules and those frequenting roads despite clear social distancing instructions, the lock down has finally has had its impact in the city on March 24, Tuesday. Compared to Monday, very few vehicles are seen on the roads today. Even the number of people thronging the market has reduced significantly.
The Police authorities have already warned of strict action against those flouting rules.
Though shops selling essential commodities are open and people are found making purchases, the number of vehicles has reduced following strict vigil by the police.
Even fishing activities have reduced considerably and there is also lack of labourers to unload fish.
