Mangalore, Feb 7, 2014: The new District Court Complex building that has come up at the Court Hills near the Aloysius College in the city is all set for inaugural on February 8, Saturday. Karnataka High Corut Chief Justice DH Vaghela will declare open the eight-storied court complex.
The construction of the complex has completed after a wait for nearly nine years after missing several deadlines due to limping works. Several High Court Judges are expected to take part in the inaugural. District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai, Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel are among the prominent dignitaries who will grace the function.
The new integrated building would house a total of 30 courts including family courts, labour courts, courts that currently operate from the corporation building and the district court.
Sources said all the courts hitherto functioning in the City Corporation building will be shifted to the new court complex on February 10.
