Puttur, Sep 22,2017 : Finally, the Puttur police have filed cases against Hindu Jagarana Vedike leader Jagadish Karanth for allegedly delivering a provocative speech intended at disrupting communal harmony and promoting hatred. Karanth has also been accused of threatening a public servant. Karanth has been booked under IPC Sections 505 (1)(c), 505 (2), 153 (a) and 189.
The case has been filed after State Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy during his recent visit to the district had issued instructions in this regard.
Karanth had reportedly delivered the provocative speech during the Hindu convention at Puttur wherein he reportedly abused Sampya SI and other police personnel alleging that their actions were against Hindus.
