Mangaluru, Aug 07, 2020: Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra has directed the public to strictly adhere to Covid-19 related guidelines and also asked public to maintain a six feet distance between each other in public places and also compulsorily wear masks. He said those who violate the face mask rule will have to pay a fine of Rs 200 in urban areas, while in other places the fine amount is Rs 100.
No large gatherings will be permitted, the DC said adding for funerals not more than 20 people can participate. He even stated that spitting in public places is a punishable while consuming liquor, chewing paan, gutka etc in public places is also not allowed.
People must work from home and in shops and other offices employees must work on shift basis, he added and warned action under Karnataka Epidemic Diseases and Disaster Management Act against those who flout the guidelines.
