Mangaluru, Mar 13, 2017: After the success of National Level Seminar and Media Fest – BEACONS 2K17, Nitte Institute of Communication, constituent college of Nitte University is all set to welcome the actor-director Rakshit Shetty on March 14, Tuesday to its Paneer Campus, Deralakatte.

Rakshit Shetty who is floating in the success of Kirik Party will be in college at 10:00am and will address students on “Craft of Film Making”. An hour of interaction is open for students, general public and media.

“It’s an honour for us to have Mr Rakshit Shetty who is a renowned film maker and path breaking actor. I am sure this opportunity will provide a good platform for students to understand films and entertainment industry in depth” expressed Prof Raviraj Kini, head of the department.

About NICO : Nitte Institute of Communication (NICO), constituent college of Nitte University since 2013 has been offering a clutch of innovative UG and PG programs in Media and Communication. The students here have access to a state-of- the-art Broadcast Studio, Print Design, TV Editing &  Web Design labs, library, wi-fi campus and fully-digital facilities for professional education and research in the area of communication and journalism. The curriculum is fully in tune with the needs of a student who wishes to serve the modern media industry and society. The students have had exposure of the media and industry through the interactions with eminent film makers, journalists, actors and academicians.

Rakshit Shetty : Born in Udupi, Rakshit Shetty made his debut as lead hero in "Tughlaq". He tasted commercial success with "Simple Aagond Love Story". He also acted in and directed "Ulidavaru Kandanthe", which was being considered as cult classic. He was later seen in films like "Vaastu Prakaara", "Ricky" and "Godhi Banna Sadharna Maikattu". "Kirik Party" is already his biggest box office success. He will also don director’s hat with "Thugs of Malgudi", which will star Kiccha Sudeep in lead role and is said to be a tribute to legendary Shankar Nag. The poster of Rakshit Shetty’s next rom-com movie "Avane Srimannarayana" has been revealed on.
