Accusation against Palemar baseless: Monappa Bhandary

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, March 31: Former President of the District Unit of BJP Monappa Bhandary said that Congress leaders Ivan D’Souza, M G Hegde, and Vijay Kumar Shetty made baseless allegations against Krishna J Palemar on March 29 regarding the mysterious disappearance of advocate Preetham Kumar. He was addressing journalists during a press meet organized in the BJP office on March 31, Wednesday.

Bhandary said that advocate Ivan D’Souza demanded the temporary resignation of Palemar for his alleged association with the disappearance of Preetham Kumar, adding that the accusation was baseless. The district police have been neglecting the case for the past three months and the minister was falsely accused to give a break to the case, he claimed. Bhandary informed the media that Palemar had personally requested the police department to investigate the case.

Ivan D’Souza had said that Preetham’s love affair with one of the relatives of Palemar might be the reason he went missing; however, Palemar doesn’t even know Preetham Kumar, clarified Bhandary.

Bhandary also informed that the girl’s uncle Chandrakanth is a Congress activist and that this was just the Congress’ ploy to wreck the BJP’s reputation. Besides, Preetham’s parents had issued a statement that they do not suspect the minister and that they actually respect him. He added that the minister’s name was not even filed in the petition, but came up during the argument.

He said that the Congress has a right to protest against the management of government, but they had absolutely no right to organize a protest against the minister.

Srikar Prabhu, Sudhakar Joshi, and Pushpalatha were present during the press meet.
