Abduction case : Shop owner from Madikeri arrested under POCSO

Mangaluru, Feb 21, 2017 : The case of missing of two girl students of a private tutorial of Mangaluru and their subsequent tracing at Madikeri, though has brought a happy ending to the case, the missing case has now been registered as a case of abduction by the police.

arrest Meanwhile, Shanker Bhat (33), a man from Puttur who owns a fancy shop at Madikeri has been arrested under POCSO for employing the minor girls in his shop. The accused has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

The girls who had been to the tutorial on February 11 had gone missing following which a missing complaint was lodged. Police who investigated the case traced the girls at Madikeri. They were brought to Mangaluru and subsequently handed over to their parents.

The case has been entrusted to women’s police station. Sources said police are likely to arrest a few more accused in the case.

Luckily the girls were traced by the police, because these days going missing out of reach of the family makes the piblic suspicious . Luckily they are back safe.
