A teenager ends life by jumping off the bridge at Santhakatte

Udupi, Sep 28, 2016: A teenage girl commits suicide by jumping off the bridge across river Swarna at Santekatte in Udupi on September 28, Wednesday evening.
The deceased is identified as Chaithra (18), daughter of Chandrashekar and Jyothi couples of Ambagilu. Chaitra worked at Net G mobile shop in Ambalpady from past four months.
On Wednesday in the evening after work Chaitra from shop took a bus alighted at Santekatte went walking towards bridge. The locals noticed her say that she was on conversation with someone on phone. She left her bag and sandals and jumped off the bridge suddenly.
They immediately informed the matter to Udupi Police who later informed the family. Her identity was traces due to her bag.
Search operation is going as her body is not traced yet.
