A Manglurean, among ’100 Legal Luminaries of India’

Mangaluru, Aug 09, 2016: The famous pune’s, Symbiosis Law School Director, Prof Shashikala Gurpur figures among the most illustrious legal minds in India in the compilation ‘100 Legal Luminaries of India,’ brought out by the prestigious publisher LexisNexis.
Hailing from Gurpur on the outskirts of Mangaluru and an alumni of St Agnes College and SDM Law College, she is also the Dean of Faculty of Law at the Symbiosis International University. She has been a recipient of many awards, the others being ’Award for Excellence in Legal Sector’ (instituted by The Vijay Foundation), Fulbright-Nehru International Education scholarship – 2011, and the National and South Asian Legal Education Innovation Award 2011 conferred by SILF and MILAT.
She has also been the part-time member of the 19th Law Commission of India and is now the member of the Bar Council of India.
