84 Test positive for coronavirus in DK, 22 cases reported in Udupi on Jul 01

Mangaluru, Jul 01, 2020: 84 Coronavirus Covid-19 cases reported in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi reported 22 new cases on July 01, Wednesday.

Among 84 who tested positive in DK, 52 are males and 32 females, including 11 children. One is an inter-state returnee, six returned from Sharjah, 28 have been diagnosed with influenza-like illness (ILI) and 38 were primary contacts of earlier patients. Contact tracing process of seven patients is on.Three deaths were reported on Wednesday.

Among the 22 new cases reported in Udupi, 11 are males and 10 females. Five have travel history to Maharashtra, one each from Saudi Arabia, Telangana and Bengaluru and 14 primary contacts of earlier patients.

Deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh has imposed prohibitory orders in the district from July 1 till the end of the month from 8 pm to 5 am to avoid unnecessary movement of public.
