Mangalore, Oct 9, 2013 : The Mangalore Division of the KSRTC as a Navaratri gift to passengers, has announced the introduction of eight air conditioned Volvo bus services from Mangalore to Dharmasthala and Subrahmanya and from Subrahmanya to Dharmasthala. The bus services will commence from October 10.
Mahesh, KSRTC Divisional Controller of Mangalore has informed that four Volvo buses each would operate on the Mangalore Dharmasthala route and Mangalore-Subrahmanya route. The KSRTC headquarters had approved the commencement of services in September and the introduction of service was delayed due to shortage of drivers as well as the bad state of the Mangalore-Dharmasthala-Subrahmanya road owing to heavy rains.
As of now, the KSRTC has four Rajahamsa limited stop bus services from State Bank to Dharmasthala and the fare for the distance has been reduced from Rs 91 to Rs 70.
In the new Volvo buses, the fare between Mangalore and Dharmasthala would be Rs 90, while the fare for the Mangalore Subrahmanya bus is Rs 120. The fare for the travel between Dharmasthala-Subrahmanya route is Rs 75.
