Mangaluru, July 4, 2020: 75 people from Dakshina Kannada and 19 people from Udupi tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, July 4. Three more Covid-19 fatalities were recorded in the district today, thus taking the tally to 22.
Out of the 75 cases reported in DK, 29 were categorised as cases of influenza like illness (ILI), 6 were cases of SARI, 11 are foreign returnees and source of how 4 others contracted the disease is being traced while 25 others are primary contacts of other patients.
As many as 13 patients were discharged from hospital on Saturday. With today’s 75 cases, the total Covid 19 positive cases in the DK district rose to 1,095. As many as 516 persons have been discharged and 22 deaths have occurred including three on Saturday.
In Udupi, out of 19 cases, one among those who came from Mumbai, 3 from other districts, fourteen are primary contacts of other patients and 4 others source of infection is yet to be traced.
Now, the Udupi district has a total of 1,277 cases with 160 still being treated at the designated hospitals. 1,114 patients recovered and discharged. The district has reported three COVID-19 fatality.
