Kundapur, Aug 31, 2017: All the six fishermen who were on board in a country fishing boat were rescued at the estuary near Kodi in Gangolli on August 31, Thursday morning, as the boat engaged in fishing activity capsized.
Achyutha, Aju, Akshay and Ullas are the four who swam ashore and are said to be safe. Karun Kanchigodu (40) and Bhaskar Kharvi (44) residents of Kanchigodu village are being treated in a private hospital.
A country fishing boat ’Sri Siddi Vinayaka Prasad’ with six fishermen on board had left shore for fishing on Thursday morning from Gangolli. The sea was rough and there was a drastic change in weather condition . Due to a huge wave the boat capsized and all the fishermen present in the boat were thrown to waters . Four of them so how manged to swim to shore , but the other two were struggling for life. On noticing them the local fishermen rushed to help were rescued.
