Mangaluru, Dec 20 : SIX students undergoing training for JEE (Main + Advanced) at Centre For Advance Learning (CFAL), Kuntikana, Mangaluru, are selected in the prestigious examination Karnataka Regional Mathematics Olympiad (KRMO 2014) held on December 7. These students are eligible to appear for the second stage of the International Mathematics Olympiads (INMO-2015) which will be held on 1st February, 2015.
The selected students are Kenrick Pinto (Karnataka State Rank 2) studying in XI Standard, Shishirdeep (Rank 3), also studying in XI Standard, Ranjana BJ (Rank 6), X standard, Pangal Gopalkrishna (Rank 7) I PUC, Gautham Bhat (Rank 13) XI Standard and Shashank P (Rank 22), also of XI Standard.
Between 2009 to 2013, a total of 19 CFAL students have been selected from Mangaluru for the KRMO Olympiad. A total of 1455 students from Karnataka including 70 from Mangaluru had appeared for the KRMO 2014 held on December 7. Of them 30 students were selected from Karnataka including six from CFAL.
The Mathematics Olympiad Program in India leading to participation in the International Mathematics Olympiad is organized by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) on behalf of the National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM) of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).
