Mangalore, May 6, 2014: Survey Department Commissioner Ponnuraj has informed that Property Cards will be made mandatory in urban areas and will be a replacement to Khatas and RTC, He also said that 55 per cent of the work on the project is complete in Mangalore.
Speaking to reporters here on May 5, Monday he said the property card will be an authentic property ownership document which will come in handy in times of property dealings like sale and purchase.
Ponnuraj also informed that the project has received a good response in Mangalore and added the property card will be linked to Bhoomi and Cauvery project. He said in Mangalore the authorities have completed measuring 1,40,085 properties and 66,718 documents collected. The mapping of 1,400,852 properties has also been done, he informed.
The Commissioner also stated that the administration proposes to organise revenue adalats in rural areas to settle property disputes and also to rectify defects in RTC.
