5 of family injured as car crashes against tree near Konaje

Mangaluru, Jan 7, 2016 : Five members of a family sustained injuries when the car in which they were travelling crashed against a tree at Tiblapadavu in Konaje police station limits on January 6, Wednesday night. The condition of one of the injured is said to be critical. The attempt of the car driver to overtake a vehicle is learnt to have resulted in the mishap.
Those injured are Mohammad Asfahan (25), the car driver, Shameera (35), Shifana Parveen (17), Mumtaz (45) and Ishana (13). Of them Mumtaz has sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital at Derlakatte. All of them hailed from Vorkaregudde near Konaje and were on way to Uchila, Someshwara to attend a function at a relative’s house when the mishap took place.
The car was badly mangled and one of its doors was also ripped apart due to the impact of the collision.
A case has been registered by Konaje police.
