377 new Covid-19 positive cases in DK; 175 cases in Udupi on September 5

Mangaluru, September 5, 2020: 377 people from Dakshina Kannada (DK) and 175 people from Udupi tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, September 5, 2020. Nine more Covid-19 fatalities were recorded in DK and four in Udupi district today.

Among the 377 new cases in DK, 192 are from Mangaluru, 45 from Bantwal, 64 from Puttur, 37 from Sullia, 20 from Beltangady and 19 are from outside DK district. As many as 311 patients were discharged from hospital today.

With this the total Covid 19 positive cases in the DK district rose to 14,600. As many as 11,293 persons have been discharged and 2,961 cases are currently active. 400 deaths have occurred including 9 deaths today. Among 9 deaths, 3 from Mangaluru, Bantwal, Puttur and Sullia reported one death each and 3 deaths were reported from outside DK district.

Udupi district has reported 175 fresh cases on Saturday. Among them, 106 are from Udupi, 34 from Kundapur, 31 from Karkala and four from outside the district. Now, the Udupi has a total of 12,511 cases with 1,906 still being treated at the designated hospitals. 10,493 patients recovered and discharged including 232 today. The district has reported 112 COVID-19 fatality.
