35-year-old man drowns after falling into water in Bunder Neerakatte

Uppinangady: August 6, 2015: A 35-year-old agri worker in Uppinangady drowned after he stepped into flowing water near Bunder Neerakatte.

The deceased has been identified as Umesh (35) from Kadaba Alangar, who was working in a property belonging to Sithram.

According to the sources, Umesh had gone to a farm to fetch coconut on Tuesday evening. As he did not return till 6 pm. Sitharam went around the farm in search of him and found his footwear and coconut near the stream.

Sithram suspected that the flow of water might have swept him away and he might have downed

He then informed the locals, who then called the diving experts.  However the body of Umesh was retrieved on Wednesday.

A case has been registered at local police station.
