3 more COVID-19 patients discharged in Dakshina Kannada; total 12 cured

Mangaluru, April 17, 2020: Three more COVID-19 patients in Dakshina Kannada district were discharged on Friday, April 17th, after successive negative tests for the deadly virus.

The three released patients are a 63-year-old woman who came from Dubai and two men aged 43 and 52, who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat meet in New Delhi.

With these three persons, all of the first 12 patients who tested positive for COVID-19 in the district have been released from the hospital after recovery. One person, a 39-year-old person from Uppinangady who tested positive for COVID-19 today, remains in the hospital.

A total of 39,080 persons have been screened in Dakshina Kannada till date, out of which 588 are currently under home quarantine. Reports of 90 samples were received today, all of which were negative. Another 32 samples have been sent to the lab in Wenlock hospital on Friday.

In Udupi district, no fresh Covid-19 cases were reported from last 19 days.One person remains under treatment at the TMA Pai Hospital. Two others tested positive in the district were discharged on April 11 and 14, after full recovery
