Moodbidri, May 13, 2012: The second edition of Alva’s Pragathi, a 2-day job fair organized by Alva’s Educational Institution at Vidyagiri, attracted 16,457 job seekers and 137 prospective employers. A total of 3,772 candidates found jobs in companies related to the IT, manufacturing, transport, consultancy, hospitality, education, banking, and healthcare sectors during this job fair.
Alva’s Education Foundation Chairman Dr. M. Mohan Alva said that the success of the job fair has overwhelmed the organizers. Although they had expected only 10,000 job seekers, slightly less than double that number of candidates had flocked to the venue.
Alva’s Educational Institution had done a great job organizing this job fair. They had transformed all the teaching blocks into recruitment centres equipped with electronic boards displaying vacancies in various companies. They used a public address system to keep candidates informed about the latest updates and guide them to the right recruitment centres. The organizers also arranged spacious waiting rooms with comfortable seats and free snacks and beverages.
Calling Alva’s Pragathi the best-organized job fair he had ever visited, a candidate from Calangute in Goa said that he and his friends are happy that they had come here although they are not sure if any company will recruit them.
