Mangaluru, May 1, 2017 : A total of 1,40,936 children below the age of five years were administered Pulse Polio drops in the district during the second round of Pulse Polio immunisation programme under the National Pulse Polio scheme on April 30, Sunday thereby recording a percentage of 85.43.
It was targeted to administer Polio drops to 1,64,965 kids in Dakshina Kannada district. In Bantwal taluk 91.95 % kids in the age group of below five were administered the Polio drops while Belthangady, Puttur, Sullia, Mangaluru Rural and Mangaluru Urban too recorded a good percentage of 91.31, 88.97, 87.49, 87.58 and 71.01 respectively.
