22% rise in passenger traffic in Mangaluru International Airport

Mangaluru, Jan 26, 2016 : Mangaluru International Airport has registered an overall increase of 22 % in passenger traffic during the current financial year. If the international passenger traffic has seen a 40% increase, the domestic passenger traffic has seen a rise of 15 %.
The airport wants to achieve a target of 16 lakh passengers during the present year. Current ly, MIA stands 12th as far as international passenger traffic is concerned next to Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Cochin, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Thiruvananthapuram, Ahmedabad, Kozhikode and Thiruchirapalli international airports.
With the objective of increasing passengers, the airport also intends to introduce new flights during the current year.
