200th Monthly Theatre at Kalaangann, Great milestone

Mangaluru, Aug 01, 2018:   Speaking with media on July 31, Tuesday, Gurkar Eric Ozario said that for the last 16 years and 8 months, Mandd Sobhann has been presenting Konkani performances of different troupes, on the first Sunday of every month, without a single break. The 200th monthly theatre of Mandd Sobhann will present a two-hour musical treat “Aputt Mandd Sobhann Music” at Kalaangann in Mangaluru on August 5.

 

Musical treat :  Under the music direction of Eric Ozario, top musicians of international fame, along with the best voices of Mangaluru, will present a 2-hour musical treat.

The lyricists are Amar Chafra, Melwyn Rodrigues, Shridhar Kamath, Fred Kumar, Uday Mbembre, Aruna V Kamath, Llyod Rego, Yusuf Sheikh, Jossy Pinto. The accompanying artistes are Butto (flute), Manoj (violin), Cajetan (keyboard), Alwyn (Guitar), Rajesh (tabla), Jerome (bass), and Sachin (percussion).

Those who will present music are Eric, Joyce, Shilpa, Prajoth, Robin, Adolf, Jacqueline, Prakash, Zeena, Nihal, Sonal, Jason, Dealle, Gia and Aman.

Deputy Speaker of the Goan Assembly Michael Lobo will be the chief guest. The musical programme is sponsored by “Friends of Lawry” and is free for the public. The programme begins at 6 pm. A short stage performance will be presented in the middle of the event.  A large pendal has been erected in the Kalaangann maidan to accommodate maximum number of people.  All interested are cordially invited.
