Udupi, July 11,2017 : Two drivers and a conductor of a KSRTC bus have been arrested by the Udupi police on the charges of sexually abusing a 15 year old girl inside a bus at Ranebennur in Haveri district.
The arrested are Veeraiah Hiremath(40) Raghavendra Badiger(43), both drivers and Yuvaraj Kattekar, conductor.
The girl hailing from Belagavi but a resident of Manipal had recently travelled by a KSRTC bus to go to Ranebennur when the three had halted the bus at a village and had sexually assaulted her on the night of July 5.
A complaint was lodged at Udupi Women’s Police Station after the girl who returned to Manipal on July 8 informed her parents.
The accused were subsequently arrested on July 10, Monday and have been booked under POCSO. They have been produced before the court. Even their bus has been seized.
