2 KSRTC drivers, conductor accused of raping minor remanded to judicial custody

Udupi, July 12,2017 :Two KSRTC bus drivers and a conductor who were arrested on charges of raping a 15 year old girl in a bus at Ranebennur in Haveri district have been remanded to judicial custody till July 24.

The victim who hailed from Belagavi resides in Manipal. She was travelling in the bus alone on July 5 when the incident took place. The accused Yuvraj Kattekar (45 ) who is a conductor and drivers Veeraiah Heremath (40) and Raghavendra Badiger (43), drivers had halted the bus at a village and reportedly committed the heinous act.

The accused were arrested and booked under POCSO after the girl who returned home on July 8 informed her parents who lodged a police complaint.
