2 Assamese youth arrested for major burglary

Mangaluru, Feb 7, 2017 : Two youth from Assam have been arrested by the Kankanady Police with regard to  the theft of valuables worth  over Rs 2 lakhs  from the Mangalore Hills Internet City Private Ltd at Shaktinagar. The duo was arrested at the Kankanady Railway Station where they were waiting to board a train to  Assam along with the stolen goods.


The arrested are Ranjan Kalita (22) and Shivashanker   Das alias Ashok  Kabeer (23). The theft had taken place on December 25 last year and as per the complaint lodged,   goods worth Rs 2,87,500 including four laptops, five I-pads , a camera, mouse, charger and watch were stolen.

The duo  have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody
