183 fresh Covid-19 cases in DK, 130 in Udupi

Mangaluru, Oct 19, 2020:   A total of 183 fresh Covid-19 cases were recorded in Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, while the discharges outnumbered the fresh cases.

 

As many as 272 infected have recovered and were discharged, taking the total number of discharges to 24,288.

According to officials, three more fatalities were recorded in the district and the total Covid-19 deaths have reached 631.

The district has 3,395 active cases undergoing treatment at hospitals and in home isolation. A total of 2,24,879 samples have been tested in the district so far.

As many as 8,330 mask violation cases have been booked in the district and a total of Rs 9,66,075 in fine has been collected from the violators.

In Udupi

A total of 130 fresh Covid-19 cases were recorded in Udupi on Sunday. taking the total tally of cases in the district to 20,830.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the district is 173. Out of the 130 cases, 88 are asymptomatic and 42 are symptomatic.

Among the new cases, 52 are from Udupi, 44 are from Kundapura and 31 are from Karkala respectively. Three cases are from outside the district. 

Of the fresh cases, 113 infected have been recommended home isolation and 17 are hospitalised.

A total of 2,255 swab samples were collected for testing on Sunday, while a total of 1,57,115 samples were collected till date. As many as 18,732 people have been discharged after recovering. The district has 1,923 active cases.
