Mangaluru, June 08, 2020: Dakshina Kannada (DK) district saw 17 fresh Covid-19 cases with a travel history from Maharashtra and Goa on Sunday.
According to Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, all those who arrived from Mumbai and Goa were in institutional quarantine in Udupi. After completing quarantine for seven days, they had returned to their native villages in Dakshina Kannada.
All the patients who had tested positive for Covid-19 had been shifted to the designated Covid hospital in Mangaluru for treatment.
Further, five infected persons recovered and were discharged from hospital on Sunday. The district had recorded a total of 182 cases and 96 have been discharged so far. As many as 25 Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) cases had been reported in the district. Eleven persons had been admitted for observation.
