Udupi: August 26, 2015: As many as 140 fake currency notes were found among the money deposited by various branches to the currency chest of the Syndicate Bank here between October 31, 2014 and April 24, 2015.

The police said, as per a complaint given by B. Narasimha Nayak, Nodal Officer from Syndicate Bank Regional Office, the fake currency notes included 27 notes of Rs. 1,000 denomination, 101 notes of Rs. 500 denomination, and 12 notes of Rs. 100 denomination.


The fake notes were detected during the verification process at the Syndicate Bank currency chest.

We the common public can easily be fooled by duplicate notes. How come the Bank so irresponsible in detecting the fake notes?
