Mangaluru, Nov 14, 2017: The 128th birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was celebrated at the Nehru Maidan on  November 14, Tuesday.

Mayor Kavitha Sanil, Deputy Mayor Rajaneesh Kapikad, former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, Corporators Sabitha Misquith, Lancelot Pinto and others were present. All the dignitaries garlanded the statue of Pandit Nehru and paid respects to him.

A large number of students were also present. The Mayor informed  on the occasion that  a new main entrance of Nehru Maidan will be constructed at a cost of Rs 25 lakh.
