11 yr girl dies in tragic road mishap at Katapady Junction

Udupi, Sep 11,2017 : Eleven year old Sushmita from Kateel met a tragic end when she who was pillion riding a bike with her uncle, fell off the bike and was fatally run over by a truck at Katapady Junction on the National Highway on September 10, Sunday.

Sushmita was on way to Udyavar along with her uncle Narayan Achari to see his under construction house. It is said Narayan had tried to overtake a bus which had halted to pick up passengers when a truck which was heading in the same direction rammed against the bike throwing Sushmita off guard.

Narayan was unhurt in the mishap. Meanwhile, local residents are complaining that such mishaps take place as the buses which are supposed to halt on the service road were instead stopping at the Highway itself.
