Mangalore, July 29, 2013 : State Minister for Health and Family Welfare UT Khader has said that Deputy Commissioners of all districts have been directed to make alternate arrangements to assist public during emergencies in the wake of the strike call given by the 108 Ambulance staff.
The minister was speaking to reporters after visiting sea erosion affected areas at Kotepura, Mogaveerapatna, Mukkachery, Subhashnagar and other places in Ullal along with Deputy commissioner N Prakash.
He said though the 108 Ambulances were government property, the staff were from a private firm called GVK and as per the agreement between GVK and the Government in 2008, the company itself was responsible for job security and other benefits payable to the staff.
