Youth enthusiastically participated in the programme as they regard that to play in the slush field once in a year is an opportunity for them to connect to their roots. Running races, tug-of-war, throw ball and human pyramid making and other competitions were held throughout the day.

The organisers chose the paddy field of Chenni Poojarthy, for the event.

Rajesh, a member of the Bhajan Mandali, said that these events organised in a way also helps the owner of the slushy field as it will be ready for transplanting the paddy seedlings once the soil is made soft by jumping over it while playing the games. As the paddy field was close to the main road near Korangrapady, running races and splashing of slush attracted those who drove on the road. Some of them parked their vehicles along the road and got out to enjoy the games.

Organisers said that it is a good practice to play in the mud once in a while as mud has medicinal values to cure some diseases. Physical exercise these days are  not given enough space they said.
