"Tuluvere Kabaddi" competition starts on Dec 13

Mangaluru, Dec 9,2014:   Addressing a press conference,  Vijaya Bank Officers’ Union President and Vishwa Tulu Parba Treasurer Mulki Karunakara Shetty said that actor Suman will inaugurate the Kabaddi tournament for men and women on December 13, at 3 pm.

’ Vishwa Tuluvere Parba 2014’ , Vijaya Bank Officers’ Union and Vijaya Bank Workers’ Organisation, in association with Dakshina Kannada District Amateur Kabaddi Association will organise Mulki Sundarram Shetty memorial districtlevel Tuluvere Kabaddi tournament, at Sahyadri College at Adyar in Mangaluru from December 13.

Sixteen invitee teams will participate in the competition. Vijaya Bank team and Dakshina Kannada District Kabaddi teams have agreed for an exhibition match on the occasion, he said.    The champion team would get Rs 25,000 as prize money with citation, while runners will win Rs 15,000 and third prize winners will get Rs 10,000. The winners of the exhibition match will get cash reward of Rs 15,000.

Meanwhile, former national-level Kabaddi players B Ramanath Rai and Rathnakar Putran will be felicitated and conferred with Mulki Sundarram Shetty award, he said.

The legend  :  Mulki Karunakara Shetty said that Mulki Sundarram Shetty had provided employment to around 9,000 people and played an important role in the financial growth of Dakshina Kannada district.   The birth anniversary of Mulki Sundarram Shetty will be celebrated in 2015.  On the occasion, he said that one circle or road in Mangaluru should be named after Mulki Sundarram Shetty and his achievements should be brought  to the attention students.

Vijaya Bank Workers’ Organisation Treasurer Raghuram and Vijaya Bank Officers’ Union Treasurer Padmanabha Bwere also present.
