"Raga Sudha Rasa" music festival - Jan 2 & 3

Mangaluru, Jan 2, 2015: Mani Krishnaswami Academy is organising ‘Raga Sudha Rasa’, a three-day national music festival, at the Dhyana Mandira of Sharada Vidyalaya from January 2, to mark the birth centenary of vocalist M S Subbulakshmi.

Academy President Capt Ganesh Karnik said the music festival will be inaugurated  by Sharada Vidyalaya President Prof M B Puranik at 5.30 pm  on January 2.

Sharavu Sri Mahaganapathi Temple, Mangaluru, Managing Trustee Sharavu Raghavendra Shasthri will grace the occasion and MRPL Group General Manager K Lakshminarayna will preside over the programme, he added.

Krishna Gana Sudha Music Academy, USA, Director Rajarajeshwari Bhat will be felicitated on the occasion.

The formal function will be followed by a carnatic classical vocal concert by Kruthi Bhat, USA.
On January 3, the programmes will be held at Karnataka Bank Auditorium at Kodialbail. Yuva Kala Mani 2016 Award will be presented to  violinist Dilip K J. The award consists of a purse of Rs 25,000 and a memento. Senior Mridanga artiste K Babu Rai will be felicitated.

The academy Executive Committee President Geetha Saralaya, Vice President Ganesh Somayaji and Secretary P Nityananda Rao were present.
