‘Police dept acting under political pressure’: BJP complains to SP

Mangalore, May 4, 2014: A delegation of the district unit of the BJP met SP Dr Sharanappa on May 3, Saturday and lodged a complaint with him alleging that the police department in the district was failed in its duty of maintaining law and order and was functioning under political pressure.

The complaint has pinpointed the department’s failure in tackling with the cattle slaughter and cattle smuggling, thefts, crime against women and also the toll gate issue. The party also accused the cops of filing false cases against workers of political parties.

BJP submitting memorondum

The party has demanded an impartial probe into the Derlakatte incident, several cases of missing of young women and also the toll gate issue.

Capt. Ganesh Karnik, MLC, Monappa Bhandari, MLC, S Angara, MLA, former minister Krishna Palemar, former MLA Yogish Bhat, Sulochana Bhat, Satish Prabhu, Rukmaya Poojari, Sanjaya Prabhu and other BJP leaders were present.
