“Nadige”- a unique campaign aimed at recycling old footwear launched

Udupi, Nov 30, 2023: “Nadige” towards a thousand miles, a campaign aimed at collecting old footwears and using the same to create new footwears, mats and bags, was launched at MGM College premises on November 30, Thursday by social and environmental activist Dinesh Holla. The campaign is an initiative by activist Avinash Kamath and Abigail S Anchan in association with NSS unit of MGM College.

Vishwanath Shenoy, Honorary President of Sanskriti Vishwa Pratishtana, Ansar Ahmed, Founder of Hope India Foundation, Dr Sulatha V Bhandari, President of Manipal Mahila Samaj, Laxminarayan Karanth, Principal of MGM College and others were present.

The collected footwears will be sent to Greensole Company where the Greensole Foundation would convert them into new footwears and distribute it to the needy.

MGM College has a collection centre where public can deposit their old footwear.
