According to the complainant Rohini  S, Managing Director of Chitra Publications, the local corporator Tilakraj had led the  group which torched bundles of Karavali Ale at Krishnapur on Sunday, while  on Monday, copies of Karavali Ale were snatched from the vehicle loaded with the newspaper bundles as soon as it arrived at Suratkal bus stand. The copies were later torched, the complaint said.

Pointing out that it was the usual trait of the Sangh Parivar members to snatch newspaper copies and torch them,  the  complaint said even the request made to the Suratkal inspector  to ensure protection, had been of no avail.

The complaint also stated that the miscreants had challenged the newspaper for publishing anti-Palemar reports. It has further urged for legal action against those indulging  in  destructive activities and urged for  police intervention to see to it that  the former minister, Sangh Parivar and other elements did not disturb  the functioning of the newspaper.
