Mangaluru, Jan 27, 2017: Eminent rationalist and consumer activist Prof. Narendra Nayak has lodged a complaint with Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner against the unauthorised use of a portion of the Karavali Utsav grounds for parking of vehicles arriving for the Karavali Utsav.
In his complaint, Prof Nayak pointed out that the portion of the ground which is reserved for athletes, walkers and in general for sports and which separates from the Karavali Utsav grounds through a fence is now used for parking by collecting fees after cutting down the fence.
He questioned how permission has been given for parking in the area ? This has resulted in problems for those who otherwise use this ground for exercise and recreation, Prof Nayak said and urged the Commissioner to stop this unauthorised parking of vehicles and initiate necessary action against the persons concerned.
