Kaup, Dec 5, 2016 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought dishonour to the top post he is holding by describing himself as a Fakir. What would be the fate of the nation if the Prime Minister himself becomes a Fakir?," questioned JD(S) Supremo and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda.
Speaking to press persons at the Sunni Centre at Muloor on December 4, Sunday, Gowda said Modi needs to conduct a self-introspection.
Commenting on demonetization, he said it has proved a bane to the poor and the middle class. Even small industries are greatly affected, said Gowda.
On the government ’s call for cashless transactions, he said such transactions may take place in rich nations but not in a nation like ours. " It was impossible for a nation with a rural and agricultural background to go cashless," he said and questioned the PM’s motive behind the cashless economy objective.
Any project should be implemented after studying all the pros and cons. A project implemented in haste would only create trouble, cautioned Gowda.
