Mangaluru, Sep 26, 2019: The sixth Additional District and Sessions judge Sayeedunissa on Wednesday sentenced ‘Cyanide’ Mohan Kumar to life imprisonment on finding him guilty of murdering a 38-year-old music teacher.
According to the charge-sheet filed by the Bengaluru’s Upparpet police, Kumar introduced himself as Sudhakara Acharya, an employee from the Forest Department, to the music teacher hailing from Uppala in Kasargod district. After their initial meeting at Uppala bus stand in April 2007, Kumar went thrice to the house of the woman where he proposed to marry her.
On May 28, 2007, Kumar called the woman to Mangaluru KSRTC bus stand from where the two left to Bengaluru. The woman, who had brought out a few audio cassettes, told her family members that she was leaving to Bengaluru for music recording.
