‘Commissioner Hatao’, Udupi seeks CMC Commissioner transfer

Udupi, Sep 28, 2017: BJP leader K. Raghupati Bhat, the former MLA, has said that the city unit of the party will launch a “CMC Commissioner Hatao” programme here on October 6.

Addressing the media on Sept 27, Wednesday,  Bhat said that CMC Commissioner D. Manjunathaiah was not conducting the CMC meeting according to the rules and regulations.

He was acting like a “puppet” of the ruling Congress in the CMC, he said. Since CMC Com. Manjunathaiah was from the Education Department, he was not well versed with the rules of the CMC. Hence, he should be reverted to his parent department,  Bhat added.

He alleged that both the Congress and  Manjunathaiah were corrupt. Both had failed to provide good governance in the CMC.

Hence, the BJP councillors and workers will take out a padayatra from the BJP office to the CMC office, where they will submit a memorandum demanding immediate transfer of  Manjunathaiah.

Alternately,  Manjunathaiah should be appointed as personal secretary to the Minister for Fisheries, Youth Empowerment and Sports, Pramod Madhwaraj as he bending over to the minister.
