Government to decide on Made Snana soon – Muzrai Minister Kota Shrinivas Poojary

Mangalore, July 17, 2012 : Speaking at a press conference held at the DK district office of the BJP, Kota Shrinivas Poojary, the new minister of ports and inland water transport and muzrai, said that the government will soon take a decision on the controversial Made Snana, a ritual of rolling on banana leaf plates used by Brahmins.

 

 

Calling the Made Snana controversy “a serious issue,” Mr. Poojary said that certain devotees are in favor of it and do not want it banned while certain groups of progressive thinkers are against it and demand that it should be banned. He said that the government will soon take a decision about it.

Remembering late Dr. V. S. Acharya, the former muzrai minister, Mr. Poojary said that he will try to finish all the projects and initiatives launched by Dr. Acharya.

He also said that he will focus on maintaining cleanliness in and around the temple premises. Stating that he is making a study of problems coming under the muzrai department, he said that he will find ways to solve these problems soon.
