Youth stabbed to death

Bengaluru, August 13, 2015, DHNS: A 26-year-old youth was stabbed to death by his rival as they quarrelled over an old matter at Chamundi Nagar in RT Nagar on Tuesday night.

YouthAccording to the police, the deceased, Rizwan Pasha, a resident of Chamundi Nagar, worked in a welding shop. Around 11 pm, the accused, Nayaz, along with two of his associates, went to Pasha’s house.

Soon Pasha and Nayaz engaged in a discussion which turned into a heated argument. In a fit of rage, Nayaz stabbed Pasha with a knife.

Pasha’s brother Wasim, upon hearing his brother’s cries, rushed to his help. But Nayaz’s associates overpowered Wasim and Nayaz repeatedly stabbed Pasha. Pasha collapsed while Nayaz and his associates fled the spot.

Wasim rushed Pasha to a hospital but was declared brought dead. In 2013, Nayaz and Pasha had assaulted each other and a case was registered against them. Nayaz was pestering Pasha to withdraw the case but Pasha had not budged.

On Tuesday, Nayaz urged Pasha again to withdraw the case, to which Pasha did not relent. A furious Nayaz stabbed Pasha to death.

The RT Nagar police have registered a case and Nayaz has been arrested. Search for the two associates is on.

Two poachers held

The Varthur police arrested two poachers trying to sell elephant tusks on Sarjapura Road on Wednesday.

The police also seized elephant tusks weighing 10 kg from them. The arrested are Prashanth, 22, and Muninanjappa, 28, both natives of Kanakapura. Based on a tip-off, the police went to Sarjapura and found the duo moving suspiciously. They questioned them and found the tusks in their possession. The police took them into custody.
