Mangalore Today News Network

New Delhi/Mussoorie, Apr 02, 2015:  A woman named Ruby Chaudhry, accused of posing as a trainee IAS officer and illegally staying at the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri Administrative Academy in Mussoorie, on Thursday claimed that an official had issued her a fake identity card to assist her in securing accommodation at the facility.

IASRuby alleged that academy’s deputy director Saurabh Jain had helped her in getting the fake identity card. Ruby further claimed that she had paid a bribe of Rs 5 lakh to Jain for securing the job of librarian at the institute.

The woman maintained that she was assured of job, but got nothing and was instead framed.

She admitted committing a mistake, but also demanded action against academy officials who were at fault.

In a sensational claim Ruby also said that she was offered Rs 5 crore as bribe to keep her mouth shut.

In what was a major security breach, Ruby had stayed at the prestigious institute, a place among top targets of terrorists, for over six months without the knowledge of the authorities.

The civil service recruits training academy learnt about the woman and her prolonged stay at the institute when she had already left on March 27, Dehradun SSP Pushpak Jyoti told a news agency.

The matter came to light when administrative officer of the institute Satyavir Singh lodged an FIR in this connection at Mussoorie police station yesterday, the SSP said.

According to the FIR, the woman hailing from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh had arrived at the academy on September 20 and introduced herself as Ruby Chaudhry, a trainee IAS officer, and stayed there for a little over six months before mysteriously disappearing on March 27, the official said.

According to the SSP said a special team headed by Mussoorie police inspector Chandan Singh Bisht has been constituted to find out how the woman gained entry into the high security academy and managed to stay there for so long without the knowledge of the authorities.

During her stay at the academy Ruby used to frequented the library.

Documents seized from the room where she stayed are being closely investigated, police said, adding that the team constituted by the Uttarakhand Police will first interrogate Satyavir Singh who lodged the FIR in this connection.
