Solar scam accused Saritha Nair raises fresh allegations against Oommen Chandy’s son

 Thiruvananthapuram,Jan 29, 2016: On the third day of her examination before the judicial commission, solar scam accused Saritha S Nair raised fresh allegations against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s son Chandy Oommen.

She said there was a plan to float a firm engaged in renewable energy with junior Chandy as its director. She added that she had talked about business matters with Chandy Oommen at the CM’s official residence.

There was a plan to import solar panels from the US in which junior Chandy allegedly had stake, she said before the commission.

She asserted that she only had business links with junior Chandy, but at the same time, another woman accused in the scam had close links with him. She refused to divulge her details.

Nair alleged that junior Chandy had toured with that woman to the Gulf and photos of those journeys were with Congress minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan. She said Radhakrishnan had blackmailed Chandy using those photos.

The solar scam, one of the biggest scandals to hit Kerala, has severely dented the reputation of the Congress government ahead of elections scheduled in April/May. Earlier this week, Nair had said before the commission that she had bribed both Oommen Chandy as well as Power Minister Aryadan Mohammad in exchange for government favours. But the CM has rejected those allegations.
