Shashi Tharoor Likely to Undergo Lie Detector Test in Sunanda Pushkar Murder Case

New Delhi, June 30, 2015:  Congress lawmaker Shashi Tharoor’s office today said there has been no request for lie-detector test, responding to reports that the Delhi Police may ask him to undergo the test.

 

Unconfirmed reports had said the police may appeal in court next week for permission to conduct the test.

"No official request from the police so far for a polygraph test. Have always said we will cooperate with the probe," Mr Tharoor’s office responded.

Six persons, including three "prime witnesses" have already undergone the lie detector test. Mr Tharoor has been questioned in this case on multiple occasions.

Ms Pushkar, 51, was found dead in a hotel suite on January 17 last year. This January, police claimed she was poisoned, and registered a murder case against unknown persons.
