Ranchi Teacher arrested for allegedly killing Daughter’s classmate

Ranchi, Feb 10, 2016: A school teacher has been arrested in Jharkhand capital Ranchi for allegedly killing her daughter’s classmate.

police_15 Nazia Khatoon has been accused of killing Vinay Mahto, who studied in Class 6 of Sapphire International School with her daughter Hamza.

Vinay, 12, was found unconscious on Friday on the steps of the teachers’ quarters within the school campus, where Nazia Khatoon stays with her husband and two children.

The police say the boy was seen on CCTV footage walking towards the teachers’ hostel to meet his friend after midnight on Friday. A little while later, he was seen outside the hostel in a badly wounded state by a teacher.

He died later in hospital. His body was covered with injuries and he appeared to have fallen from a height.

The police say Nazia Khatoon did not like her daughter’s friendship with Vinay.
