Rajnath hits out at Pakistan, says its state actors behind attacks in India

New Delhi, Nov 29, 2014: Home Minister Rajnath Singh chairs the crucial national security meet in Guwahati on Saturday. At the annual conference all the state police chiefs are present.

Coming on the issue of modernising the police, Rajnath assures to make it people-friendly.

"Our coastal security network is inadequate and it should be strengthened," Rajnath says.

Expressing concern over growing use of cyber space by anti-national & anti-social forces, The Home Minister says steps should be taken to monitor cyberspace Continue to take on Pakistan, Rajnath says that the neighbouring country is not refusing in its attempts to destablise India.

Talking tough on militant attack in Arnia, the Home Minister rejects Pakistan claims non-state actors are behind the incident. Rajnath asks if ISI also non-state actor.

In his address Rajnath mentions the recent militant attack in Arnia in Jammu and Kashmir and directly takes on Pakistan.

The Union Minister highlights lack of development and quality infrastructure in the northeast. He says that the government is committed to boost infrastructure in the region.

"There might be many terrorist organisations in the world but we will not allow them to get a foothold in our country," the Home Minister affirms.

Rajnath continues of the issue of threat posed by terror groups like the ISIS and says, "Some misguided Indian youth are getting frawn to terror organisations. We are concerned about fact it.

"The Home Minister says that a terrorist network has been exposed in West Bengal and by the state police and NIA are playing an important role in exposing the network.

Rajnath in the conference raises the issue of Islamic State in the meet and says that the terror group is a major threat to the security.

"We have decided to sanction Rs50 crore for construction of National Police Memorial in Delhi," he adds

"When I see the men in uniform it fills me with sense of pride and responsibility," Rajnath says.

The Home Minister says that the role of our police forces and the intelligence agencies has been crucial in ensuring security to our people and nation.

Rajnath begins his address by saluting and paying his tribute to all the jawans who were martyred.
