The incident is said to have occurred in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district. According to News18, the victim was a Muslim labourer identified as Mohammed Afrazul who was working in the area as a contract labourer.

The attacker, identified as Shambhulal Regar according to media reports, can be seen issuing a warning to those practising "love-jihad" after setting the body on fire, leading people to believe that this was a possible hate crime. Police said that he had lured the victim on the pretext of offering him some work. Regar was later arrested by the police who also reportedly recovered the murder weapon at the scene of the crime.

Police recovered the charred remains of the body at around 1 PM on Wednesday according to Indian Express.

“It is shocking how he killed the man and made a video of it. The accused has been arrested and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been set up for investigation in the case,” State Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria was quoted as saying by ANI.

The victim, identified as Mohammed Afrazul, was a migrant from West Bengal’s Malda district and was working in Rajsamand as a contract labourer. The man seen as the attacker in the video has been identified as Shambhulal Regar.

Police said that the motive of the crime is not clear as of yet and will be revealed after the investigations are complete.
